Having unleashed this torrent of Abbamania, Jackie Clarke, Keri Harper, Chris Powley and Craig Muller felt it their civic duty to form ABBALICIOUS; a loving tribute to the one and only Swedish supergroup.
In this complicated modern era, the people of New Zealand need a good old-fashioned dose of simple pop perfection all dressed up in the finest clothes the 1970s can offer and choreography only a mother could love.
ABBALICIOUS plays show packed with all of ABBA’s greatest hits – from Dancing Queen to Waterloo, from Mamma Mia to Fernando, the classics are all there!
ABBALICIOUS’ career highlights include an appearance at 2003 NBR Stadium Spectacular and the Queenstown Winter Festival 2002. Let them make your function their next career highlight!
JACKIE CLARKE:
Favourite Abba song; Knowing Me Knowing You because her favourite member of Abba is Frida and she finally got a solo in that one. In her spare time away from ABBALICIOUS Jackie sings, acts and has made an exhibition of herself in bands like When the Cat’s Been Spayed, shows like Mum’s the Word and events like Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park.
KERI HARPER:
Favourite Abba song – Fernando - Keri loves Agnetha Faltzog’s voice and 70s outfits Keri experienced the whirlwind of pop mega stardom first hand during her days with kiwi pop sensations True Bliss. She currently combines singing at events such as Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park and Fight for Life with the rigours of being a professional graphic designer.
CHRIS POWLEY:
Favourite Abba song – The Winner Takes it All. Like Benny, Chris is a self-taught musician who’s learnt the ins and outs of the business in the glare of the spotlight. At the tender age of 27 Chris is already a veteran performer who started out at age 9 singing in the famous Lou and Simon show. He’s performed alongside the likes of Diamond Lil’, Maria Dallas and John Rowles and has toured internationally to Japan, Singapore, Australia and throughout the Pacific, in fact just about everywhere except Sweden! He’s performed country music in Tamworth, disco in Samoa and Poi E the Musical with the Patea Maori Club. When he’s not jiving about and singing in a Swedish accent, Chris runs regular variety concerts at Auckland’s Sky City and an entertainment agency.
CRAIG MULLER:
Favourite Abba song: Waterloo – Craig is a graduate of Toi Whakaari - he’s a talented actor, dancer and singer with oodles of TV drama and theatre credits. To name drop just a few, he’s appeared in Spin Doctors, Shortland Street and Xena, as well as performing at the countries leading professional theatres – Sweeney Todd at Downstage, The Wind in the Willows for the Auckland Theatre Company and Blue Sky Boys at The Court. And now he’s pouring himself into a pair of tight white flares for the entertainment and amusement of us all! What a pro!
This dynamic group of top NZ talent are will give you a night to remember!
