Tom made his mark on the Kiwi music scene in the early 1970’s and has since been regarded as one of the most authentic rockers of his time.
Success was immediate for Tom when his first single reached No.12 on the national charts and he followed this up with a further 5 singles. He then released an album called “Rock Around the Clock” containing rock and roll classics and from this came another two singles - “Three Steps to Heaven” which made it to the National Top.40 and “Blue Moon” receiving huge TV exposure.
He formed the “Cadillacs” in 1982 with Dave Lovini, Brian Hatcher and Ray Eade and they released two albums – one self titled and the other “Nothing’s Better Than Rock ‘n Roll”. From these albums came four singles – “Something’s Going On”/”We’re Gonna Rock all Night” did well on the charts and the “Cadillacs” became resident on the TV show “Rock Around the Clock” screening in 1982/83.
Tom released a few more singles through to the early 90’s and had one more album called “Rockulator” which featured the single “Red Cadillac & a Black Moustache” that got great airplay around NZ Tom won the Band of the year award in 1980 with his then group and amongst the many other awards he’s collected the most recent has been “The Benny” in 2002.
Tom is renowned for delivering the goods in every performance and is one of NZ’s most energetic and professional rock icons. He’s regularly perfomed internationally, including Singapore, Fiji, Papua New Guinea and the musical capital of the world – Nashville Tennessee.
Tom has worked tirelessly for The Variety Club of New Zealand and is also accredited with getting Russell Crowe started in showbiz! The Hollywood star dubbed Tom as “the consummate professional”.
