Fran is also executive editor of Herald Business Reports and manages high-profile editorial branding events like the annual Mood of the Boardroom. She was a founding director of the New Zealand United States Council having led the private task-force which established the council.

Fran is a frequent participant in dialogues such as the Australian New Zealand Leadership forum and the United States New Zealand Partnership Forum. She is also a director of the NZ chapter of the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC).

Fran was formerly an assistant editor at NZ Herald and editor of the National Business Review.
